Entry #2: Play Matchmaker With Your Clients


We are a marketing firm with clients in all different professions, but they all have one common goal: To build awareness and increase sales & revenue.  One day we thought to ourselves, what if we partnered our clients together to promote each other.


Here’s how we did it: We partnered a for-profit client with our non-profit client and created a TV/online campaign that highlighted the strengths of both companies and their partnership.  The lesser known non-profit established credibility and visibility by being featured with the larger client and the larger client is now viewed as a company that gives back to charity.

This campaign proved to be beneficial for both organizations and by partnering together they each received twice the amount of exposure for their regular ad budget.  Additionally, at the launch of the campaign, we held a fundraising gala at another client’s restaurant where he got hundreds of brand new faces in the door and is now also perceived as a company willing to help a great cause.

With that one campaign, we were able to help three of our clients, resulting in tremendous success for each. Our clients were thrilled with the results.  This helped my company to establish great relationships with our clients, lasting trust and continued business.

I'm a small business lifer, starting/running businesses since I sold seeds door-to-door as a kid in The Bronx. I've played guitar and enjoyed baseball since I was 5 (born a NY Yankees fan). Just prior to marrying Kim in 1983 I became a Christian. Notable projects: Hired as Small Business Advocate and Social Media Director for IBM's "Supplier-Connection" - Feb '11-Dec '13. Hired as COO to help turn-around late stage start-up software company myVRM. Jul12-Dec '13 Hired as CEO of CoupleWise.com, a Digital Health2.0 app, to write business plan, raise seed capital, & completely redesign and relaunch the app. Aug '16 I won a Finalist spot for MassChallenge UK's 2016 fall cohort in London from Sept thru Nov.
