The Winner of the April 2013 Supplier Spotlight Contest is…

First things first: This has been the most active month in the history of the Contest.  770 votes!  Over 3,600 page views!  And that’s not all: This month we blew past 30,000 all-time Supplier Spotlight views!  I can’t thank everybody enough, but suffice it to say: This contest has always been for the SBE Community, and I’m happy to see it embraced.


Another momentous occasion! This is America, where small businesses drive our economy, and we throw birthday parties for dogs.  Kodi wasn’t thrilled about the birthday hat, but he was more than willing to suffer for that plate of Jell-o. (Just for fun, send me your silly pet pics & we’ll publish them…)

But we must get on with the show:  The big winner this month–in a real back-and-forth brawl with WeezLabs–is Get Referrals, Not Fool’s Gold by Dallin Swenson at S.O.F.T. Inc.  I think it won for two reasons: 1. They were most aggressive in promoting the contest to their network, and 2. it espouses common-sense that we  forget from time to time: People you already know, know other people.  Any satisfied customer is a built-in advocate for you & your services, all you have to do is reach out to them.

Twitter Chats with Supplier Connection:
Today, Tuesday April 30th at 1PM ET, Supplier Connection is starting monthly Twitter chats on @SupplierCon. They’re kind of like “Office Hours,” a time when you can drop by to ask questions and get helpful tips on making the most out of Supplier Connection. Each chat will focus on a dedicated topic, and there will also be an expert on hand to answer any questions that any registered SBEs or potential SBEs may have.  Use #ConnectBiz to tweet and join the conversation!

ACTION ITEM: Look at how you run your business. Review the innovations you’re deploying that have improved your performance. Remember, your entry is not your chance to sell your service, it’s about sharing ways you improve your company’s performance.
