I know I say this every month, but that’s the nature of Truth: it bears repeating.  The Supplier Spotlight Contest is truly by real SBEs, for real SBEs.  This has become an incredible forum for help & guidance for any growing Small Business—all you have to do is look at the entries to see why.

Supplier-Connection 2012 Webinar Series: Knowledge to Succeed

December 12, 1PM EST: “Leveraging the Network to Your Benefit”

This webinar will include:

  1. An overview of the program’s milestones,
  2. Highlight new features & important functionality,
  3. Show you what the Buyer Portal looks like providing insight into how buyers are searching for SBEs,
  4. Provide an overview of the many ways to connect & become part of the Supplier-Connection Community

Who should attend: All SBEs who want a better understanding of how Supplier-Connection works.  Additionally, you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions of the team running the Supplier-Connection initiative.  Do not miss this webinar!  Invitations will be sent starting the last week of November.

A note on “SBE-Connect”

When I started SBE Connect I really felt it would be the most important initiative introduced since we launched—still do, in fact.  But, since I launched the program in May, we’ve had a total of 25 SBEs join, which makes it impossible for a program of this nature to succeed.  So, for now, it’s with heavy heart I say farewell as we stop marketing the initiative.

Although this didn’t go as planned, it serves as a great measurement on the current sentiment of how important and effective social media is to SBEs (some on the Supplier-Connection team believe it should be a White Paper study). We’re still early in social media’s acceptance curve and will try pushing this again some time next year.

For those who recently joined “SBE Connect” we’ll keep the LinkedIn sub-group “live” —we still want everyone in the group to “Follow”, “Like”, etc. each other’s Social Media platforms.


Running an SBE is a journey; you don’t have to do it alone!

I'm a small business lifer, starting/running businesses since I sold seeds door-to-door as a kid in The Bronx. I've played guitar and enjoyed baseball since I was 5 (born a NY Yankees fan). Just prior to marrying Kim in 1983 I became a Christian.
