These are a few of the resources we use to stay efficient and innovative:
1) Use www.freeconference.com for FREE conference calling. We all still have conference calls; why not make them for free? It’s a great way to collaborate with other business owners, customers and partners when you’re not able to meet in person.
2) Connect on Skype – Skype provides free face-to-face video conference calling over the internet. There are times when a telephone call is not the right communications method, when you need to talk face-to-face in order to communicate your position – When disciplining a telecommuting employee, negotiating a contract, making a major commitment, or just talking to your family when you’re away on business.
3) Embrace social media – As a disabled Veteran-owned SBE we manage a huge community group of Verified Service Disabled Veteran Owned SBEs on LinkedIn where we keep each other updated on event notification, legislation affecting our business community, resources, advocacy, advice for new business owners from those w/more experience, and helpful hints on hot topics such as verification – Having a reliable network of businesspeople will save you time and money, and provide great ideas for innovation. LinkedIn Groups are wonderful opportunities to collaborate and meet like-minded business owners.
4) Leverage live streaming Video – Ustream is the leading live interactive broadcast platform. Anyone with an internet connection and a camera can start engaging with their customers anytime, anywhere. This is a free TV channel and a great way to show off your product/service, broadcast a live event or presentation.
