January 2012: Vote Now for The Supplier Spotlight Contest!

Voting for January’s contest winner has ended & the winner will be announced by EOB January 25th.

As we turn the page on another year it reminds me of things I can’t control… a big issue for people in small businesses and Fortune 1000 companies.

Why do we waste time and energy on things we can’t control? Like collegues and employees – can’t control ’em! Or those folks who cut us off on the drive to work? Or the economy? Or a myriad of other situations…

How about this as a worthy alternative?

Let’s resolve to focus our energies on the things we can affect. Like how we treat and serve our families, colleagues, employees and other people we come into contact with everyday.

Let’s decide to dedicate ourselves to a spirit of excellence in all things… in our home, on the job, in our communities and our country. I contend the entrepreneurial spirit is an unstoppable force—let’s use that spirit of innovation to jumpstart our companies and kick this awful taste of a bitter economy to the curb.

Which is a natural segue to this month’s entries.

If you read last month’s blog you might recall my first contest theory: Entries focusing on Sales Growth will win. Well, this month is guaranteed to continue the trend! Of the two entries—both, in their own way, focused on a similar aspect of growing sales. Read them carefully before you vote!

Coming on the heels of year-end holidays, I personally thank both Lou Biedka of Splash Worldwide and Stephen Jackson of RDZ Media Group for submitting their entries.  After you read each entry be sure to vote for the idea you think is best for your business. With each passing month this contest gains more value for the contestants and winner. Fortune 500 Buyers on the portal increased ~1/3rd in December, growing along with the number of Member Companies, which now stands at 12—but not for long. My prediction: Member Partners will almost double in 1Q2012.

And what about the number of SBE Supplier registrations? Based on what I see, registered SBEs will more than quadruple over the same period. (For the most up to date information you should join The Supplier-Connection Discussion Group on LinkedIn where members are the first to get updates.)

As you well know by now… The company with the most votes gets promoted on the Supplier-Connection web portal for the month of February (which has 29 days this year!).

Voting ends Monday evening, January 23rd at 8:00PM EDT! Don’t delay, read and vote today!
