Submission #3: An Employee Innovation Program

Submitted by Eric Heining, MotivAction, LLC

As an organization we are committed to service, innovation, efficiency, and profitability. We believe our employees have the creativity and insight to improve our operations everyday.  To harness this knowledge, we developed the “Ignite” program to assist in achieving these goals, and the impact has been significant. In 2010 the program resulted in over $100,000 is cost savings, a 2% average increase in profitability on client programs, and most recently generated an idea that has become a patent pending product offering.

Ignite encourages employees to submit innovative ideas to help MotivAction reduce expenses, drive efficiency, and advance our business. Each  idea is cataloged, evaluated, and measured. Employees who submit ideas are recognized for their contributions through a formal award process. Recognition includes plaques, award drawings, point earnings in the company recognition program, formal mention during company meetings, and year-end awards for top innovation and idea.

MotivAction's IGNITE - A Formal Employee Suggestion Program

Recognition is a key driver for participation. Year-to-date, 82% of employees have summited an idea, resulting in over 200 unique ideas, of which 47 have been implemented. MotivAction’s patent pending “The Big Deal” reward platform moved from idea to product in less than 90 days.

Above all the Ignite program is simple, effective, and measurable.
